The humble ukulele is small in stature and exhilarating to play; the sky's the limit! Our student-tailored ukulele lessons follow a clear course, with each lesson designed to help you learn at your own pace.
We cover basic chords, ukulele chords, strumming with control, playing songs, and beginner-friendly tutorials so students can quickly build confidence and play the ukulele across many styles and genres. We also introduce the four core chords C G Am F, which let beginners start making music with many popular songs from the beginning.
Regular practice helps students improve faster than occasional long sessions, so we encourage 10–20 minutes a day and practice switching between chords to build muscle memory; keeping it fun helps progress stick.
Online students can watch video instruction with multiple camera angles and receive feedback on right hand, left hand, thumb, fingers, form, and overall technique.

What Ages Are Welcome?
We tailor our ukulele lessons for everybody, with welcoming instruction for students from 7-year-olds to adults, so you can get started playing at any age or level.
Private lessons suit both youths and adults, with sessions for students from beginner to intermediate levels, and our guided teaching helps each student learn at their own pace through simple, familiar songs.
Just tell us your level, and we'll pair you with a uke teacher who fits your goals, so you can start learning ukulele. You can also sing, focus on making music with others, and connect with local music groups or ukulele clubs to better understand your instrument’s sound and build skills.
Do I Need to Already Own a Uke to Get Started?
All musicians own their own instruments. We know beginners don't always know which ukulele size to buy. The four main sizes are soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone, so ask our ukulele teachers and staff for help choosing the right one.
Soprano offers bright, plucky sounds; the concert is the middle option and a strong beginner choice; tenor is often preferred by performing professionals; and baritone uses lower DGBE tuning. Most instruments are tuned to G C E A, and each open string should ring as a clear note; we recommend retuning every time you play. An electronic tuner or tuner app helps beginners tune accurately, and our teachers can also suggest starter resources such as Ukulele for Dummies.

We'll build your rhythm and technique, teaching you to strum with a relaxed down-up motion in the right hand and wrist while avoiding excess tension; these skills transfer to guitar.
Beginners should focus on learning key chords C Am F G7, and a c chord exercise is a simple place to start. With the left hand, use the tips of your fingers to press just behind the fret wires on the neck for clear sound on the frets, and practice chord changes slowly every four counts. As you learn to hear the groove, train your ear, strengthen your sense of timing, and stay present in the moment, playing songs feels more natural and fun.

We also offer online and in-person options, so students can watch video lessons and tutorials at their own pace. These classes use song-based learning with popular songs, including tunes like “Cups” and “Riptide,” start with simple chord pairings such as C7 and F, and introduce fingerpicking basics using the thumb, index, middle, and ring fingers on the strings.
